The assisted parallel close-grip pull-up is an exercise that helps strengthen the upper body, specifically targeting the back and arm muscles. Using an assisted chin-up machine, it provides support for those who may not yet perform full bodyweight pull-ups, allowing gradual strength development.
How to do it
- Stand on the platform of the assisted chin-up machine and grip the handles with palms facing each other.
- Slowly lower yourself until your arms are fully extended and your knees bend on the platform.
- Engage your back muscles and pull yourself up until your chin is above the handles.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower yourself back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
- Repeat the movement for the desired number of repetitions.
