The assisted parallel close-grip pull-up is an exercise that helps strengthen the upper body, specifically targeting the back and arm muscles. Using an assisted chin-up machine, it provides support for those who may not yet perform full bodyweight pull-ups, allowing gradual strength development.

How to do it

  1. Stand on the platform of the assisted chin-up machine and grip the handles with palms facing each other.
  2. Slowly lower yourself until your arms are fully extended and your knees bend on the platform.
  3. Engage your back muscles and pull yourself up until your chin is above the handles.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, then lower yourself back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
