The bent-over row is a strength exercise that targets the upper back and shoulders. It involves bending at the hips while pulling weights towards the torso, helping to build muscle in the back and improve posture.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Hinge at the hips, keeping back straight, and lower torso to almost parallel with the floor.
  3. Pull the dumbbells towards your torso, keeping elbows close to your body.
  4. Squeeze shoulder blades together at the top of the movement.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back down in a controlled manner.
