The wide-grip pull-up is an upper-body strength exercise targeting the back, shoulders, and arms. It primarily develops the latissimus dorsi, enhancing upper back width and improving pulling strength. This exercise requires a pull-up bar and engages multiple muscle groups for stabilization and power.
How to do it
- Grip the pull-up bar with hands wider than shoulder-width, palms facing away.
- Hang with arms fully extended and body straight.
- Engage the core and pull yourself up until chin is over the bar.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower yourself back to the starting position.
- Repeat for desired number of repetitions.
