The wide-grip pull-up is an upper-body strength exercise targeting the back, shoulders, and arms. It primarily develops the latissimus dorsi, enhancing upper back width and improving pulling strength. This exercise requires a pull-up bar and engages multiple muscle groups for stabilization and power.

How to do it

  1. Grip the pull-up bar with hands wider than shoulder-width, palms facing away.
  2. Hang with arms fully extended and body straight.
  3. Engage the core and pull yourself up until chin is over the bar.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, then lower yourself back to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for desired number of repetitions.
