The weighted lying twist is a core exercise that combines an abdominal twist with a balance challenge, enhancing oblique strength and improving stability. By holding a balance ball between the legs while twisting, it requires coordination and engages multiple muscle groups for effective core conditioning.

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with arms extended out to the side for stability.
  2. Hold a balance ball between your legs, keeping them straight in the air.
  3. Engage your core and slowly twist your legs to one side, keeping the upper back flat on the ground.
  4. Return to the center and then twist to the opposite side.
  5. Continue alternating sides, maintaining control and balance throughout.
