The weighted lying twist is a core exercise that combines an abdominal twist with a balance challenge, enhancing oblique strength and improving stability. By holding a balance ball between the legs while twisting, it requires coordination and engages multiple muscle groups for effective core conditioning.
How to do it
- Lie on your back with arms extended out to the side for stability.
- Hold a balance ball between your legs, keeping them straight in the air.
- Engage your core and slowly twist your legs to one side, keeping the upper back flat on the ground.
- Return to the center and then twist to the opposite side.
- Continue alternating sides, maintaining control and balance throughout.
