Swimming Side Steps
Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
Swimming Side Steps is a dynamic exercise that combines core strength and coordination to enhance balance and stability. Perfect for warm-ups or active breaks, this exercise targets the obliques and improves shoulder mobility. The alternating arm and torso movements mimic swimming actions, promoting flexibility and fluid motion without requiring water.
How to do it
- Stand upright with your feet hip-width apart. Extend your right arm straight out to the side, parallel to the floor.
- Place your left hand on your hip, and keep your core engaged as you step to the right, simultaneously rotating your right arm forward and your torso in the same direction.
- Bring your feet back together, returning to the starting position. Repeat the movement on the left side, ensuring fluid, controlled motions throughout.
