The Smith leg press is performed by lying on the floor under a Smith machine and pressing the weight upward with the feet on the bar. It targets the lower body, particularly the quadriceps and glutes, offering a variation to the traditional leg press by utilizing a different setup.
How to do it
- Position yourself beneath a Smith machine, aligning your feet on the bar.
- Engage your core and exhale as you press the bar upward with your feet.
- Inhale and slowly lower the bar back towards the starting position, maintaining control.
