The Smith leg press is performed by lying on the floor under a Smith machine and pressing the weight upward with the feet on the bar. It targets the lower body, particularly the quadriceps and glutes, offering a variation to the traditional leg press by utilizing a different setup.

How to do it

  1. Position yourself beneath a Smith machine, aligning your feet on the bar.
  2. Engage your core and exhale as you press the bar upward with your feet.
  3. Inhale and slowly lower the bar back towards the starting position, maintaining control.
