The Smith Close-Grip Bench Press targets the triceps and is performed using a Smith Machine. It is effective for building upper body strength, particularly focusing on the triceps while also engaging the chest and shoulders.
How to do it
- Lie back on a bench under the Smith Machine with feet flat on the floor.
- Grasp the bar with a close, overhand grip, keeping hands about shoulder-width apart.
- Lower the bar slowly to your mid-chest, keeping elbows close to your body.
- Press the bar back up to the starting position, fully extending your arms.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps, maintaining control throughout.
