The Smith Chair Squat is a lower-body strength exercise that combines a squat with a sitting movement, simulating a chair position. It is primarily used to strengthen the quadriceps and glutes while providing support and stability through the use of the Smith Machine.

How to do it

  1. Set the bar on the Smith Machine at shoulder height.
  2. Position yourself under the bar, resting it across your upper back.
  3. Step forward slightly and lower your body as if sitting in a chair.
  4. Keep your core engaged and knees aligned over your toes.
  5. Push through your heels to return to the starting position.
