The Smith Bench Press is a weight training exercise that targets the chest, specifically the pectoral muscles. Using a Smith Machine, it allows guided movement, reducing stabilization requirements and focusing on pressing strength.

How to do it

  1. Position a flat bench under the Smith Machine bar.
  2. Lie back on the bench with feet flat on the floor.
  3. Grip the bar slightly wider than shoulder-width.
  4. Lower the bar to your chest by bending your elbows.
  5. Press the bar back up to the starting position.
