The 45-degree leg press primarily targets the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings. It is effective for building lower body strength and muscle mass. The exercise provides a controlled movement to focus on isolating the leg muscles and can be adjusted for resistance.

How to do it

  1. Position yourself on the sled machine with your back flat against the pad.
  2. Place your feet shoulder-width apart on the footplate.
  3. Extend your legs to push the platform upward, ensuring knees are soft, not locked.
  4. Slowly lower the platform until your knees are approximately at a 90-degree angle.
  5. Press the platform back to the starting position, focusing on pushing through your heels.
