The seated row with a towel is an effective exercise for developing upper back strength and improving posture. Using a towel simulates the resistance usually provided by machines or bands, engaging multiple muscle groups while enhancing grip strength and core stability.

How to do it

  1. Sit on the floor with your legs extended and loop a towel around your feet.
  2. Hold the towel's ends with both hands, keeping your back straight and shoulders down.
  3. Pull the towel towards your torso by squeezing your shoulder blades together.
  4. Pause briefly at the top position, maintaining tension in your upper back.
  5. Slowly release to return to the starting position and repeat.
