Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The runner's stretch is a dynamic stretching exercise that targets flexibility and range of motion in the hips, hamstrings, and calves. It's commonly used in warm-up routines to prepare the lower body for physical activity, reduce injury risk, and improve overall performance.
How to do it
- Begin by standing with feet hip-width apart.
- Step one foot back, bending the front knee while keeping the back leg straight.
- Bend forward from the hips, reaching towards the toes of the front foot.
- Hold the stretch for a few seconds, feeling the stretch in the hamstrings and calves.
- Return to the standing position and repeat on the other side.
