Roll Thoracic Spine Lying on Floor
Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The exercise involves using a foam roller to mobilize the thoracic spine while lying on the floor. It helps improve thoracic mobility and can alleviate back stiffness. Starting from a lying position, the individual uses the foam roller to create a gentle arch in the upper back.
How to do it
- Lie back on a foam roller positioned under the thoracic spine.
- Support the head with both hands, elbows wide.
- Lift hips slightly off the ground, engaging the glutes.
- Roll slowly up and down the upper back, pausing at tight spots.
- Avoid arching the lower back and keep the neck relaxed.
