The lying leg raise is an effective exercise primarily targeting the lower abdominal muscles. It involves lifting the legs while lying flat on the back to engage the core and hip flexors. This exercise enhances core strength and stability.

How to do it

  1. Lie flat on your back with your legs straight and arms by your sides.
  2. Engage your core and lift your legs towards the ceiling until they are perpendicular to the floor.
  3. Slowly lower your legs back down without touching the ground, maintaining tension in your abs.
  4. Repeat the movement while keeping your lower back pressed against the floor.
