The hip squat is a bodyweight exercise that targets the lower body, focusing primarily on building strength and endurance in the legs and glutes. It helps improve balance, flexibility, and overall stability in the hips and lower back, making it an effective exercise for functional strength.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointed slightly out.
  2. Engage the core and keep chest upright as you lower your hips back and down.
  3. Push knees outward and lower until thighs are parallel to the ground.
  4. Press through heels to return to the starting position.
  5. Maintain an even pace throughout the movement.
