The dumbbell rear lunge is an effective lower body exercise that targets the glutes and quadriceps. It enhances balance and coordination while engaging the core. This movement is excellent for building strength and muscular endurance in the legs, making it a staple in many fitness routines.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells by your sides.
  2. Step one leg back, lowering your hips to create a 90-degree angle with both knees.
  3. Keep your front knee aligned over your ankle, and your chest up.
  4. Push through the front heel to return to the starting position.
  5. Alternate legs with each repetition.
