The dumbbell lunge is a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps and gluteus maximus. It's effective for building leg strength, enhancing balance, and improving core stability. The exercise involves stepping forward with one leg and lowering the hips until both knees are bent at about a 90-degree angle while holding dumbbells.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
  2. Step forward with one leg, keeping your torso upright.
  3. Lower your hips until both knees are bent at approximately 90 degrees.
  4. Push through the front heel to return to the starting position.
  5. Repeat on the other leg.
