A close-grip pull-up is a bodyweight exercise that emphasizes the latissimus dorsi and biceps by using a narrow grip. This variation increases the demand on the upper back and arm muscles, providing a unique challenge compared to standard pull-ups.
How to do it
- Grasp the pull up bar with a narrow overhand grip.
- Hang with arms fully extended and feet off the ground.
- Pull your chest towards the bar by engaging your back and arm muscles.
- Briefly hold when your chin reaches bar level.
- Lower yourself back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
