Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
Clap push-ups are an advanced plyometric variation of the classic push-up. They primarily increase explosive upper body strength and power, enhancing athletic performance. During the exercise, the push-off from the ground is forceful enough to allow a clap before landing back in a push-up position.
How to do it
- Start in a plank position with hands slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
- Lower your chest toward the floor by bending elbows.
- Explosively push up and off the ground, clapping hands together quickly.
- Land softly on your hands, absorbing the impact by bending elbows.
- Reset and repeat the movement for several repetitions.
