The exercise focuses on strengthening the calf muscles by performing calf raises from a deficit position. This variation increases the range of motion, enhancing muscle engagement and flexibility.
How to do it
- Stand with the balls of your feet on a step, heels hanging off the edge.
- Hold onto a chair for support, keeping your back straight.
- Slowly raise your heels as high as possible, onto your toes.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower your heels below the step level.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps.
