The exercise focuses on strengthening the calf muscles by performing calf raises from a deficit position. This variation increases the range of motion, enhancing muscle engagement and flexibility.

How to do it

  1. Stand with the balls of your feet on a step, heels hanging off the edge.
  2. Hold onto a chair for support, keeping your back straight.
  3. Slowly raise your heels as high as possible, onto your toes.
  4. Pause briefly at the top, then lower your heels below the step level.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of reps.
