The cable preacher curl is an isolation exercise focusing on the biceps. It involves curling a handle attached to a low pulley cable while seated on a preacher bench. This variation allows for continuous tension throughout the movement, effectively targeting the biceps for hypertrophy and strength development.

How to do it

  1. Position yourself on the preacher bench with your arms resting on the pad.
  2. Grab the handle attached to the low pulley with an underhand grip.
  3. Keeping your upper arms stationary, curl the handle upwards by contracting the biceps.
  4. Squeeze the biceps at the top and slowly lower the handle back.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of reps, maintaining control throughout.
