The bodyweight step-up is a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps, glutes, and hamstrings. It helps improve leg strength and balance while simulating a stepping motion. This exercise is often used as part of a lower body workout routine and can also enhance coordination.

How to do it

  1. Stand facing a bench with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Place one foot firmly on the bench.
  3. Push through the heel of the front foot to lift your body up.
  4. Bring the trailing leg up to stand fully on the bench.
  5. Step back down carefully and repeat with the other leg.
