The barbell good morning is a strength training exercise that primarily targets the lower back, glutes, and hamstrings. It involves bending at the hips with a slight knee bend while keeping the back straight. This movement enhances posterior chain strength and flexibility.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a barbell on your upper back.
  2. Engage your core and keep your back straight.
  3. Hinge at the hips, lowering your torso until it's nearly parallel to the floor.
  4. Push through your heels and return to the starting position.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of reps.
