The bodyweight squat is a fundamental exercise that strengthens the lower body, particularly the thighs and glutes. It enhances lower body muscle endurance and can improve balance and mobility.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly out.
- Engage your core and keep your chest lifted.
- Push your hips back and bend your knees to lower down as if sitting in a chair.
- Go as low as your flexibility allows, keeping knees over toes.
- Press through heels to stand back up, squeezing glutes at the top.
