The Barbell Sumo Squat is a strength exercise that targets the lower body, enhancing muscle growth and power. It involves a wide stance and focuses on the inner thighs, glutes, and quadriceps. This exercise improves hip flexibility and overall leg strength.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width apart, toes pointing slightly outwards.
  2. Hold the barbell across your upper back, engaging your core.
  3. Lower your body by bending your knees and hips, keeping your chest up and back straight.
  4. Descend until your thighs are parallel to the ground.
  5. Push through your heels to return to the starting position.
