The barbell snatch from blocks is a weightlifting exercise that enhances explosive power and strength. It involves lifting a barbell from elevated blocks to an overhead position quickly, engaging multiple muscle groups for comprehensive development.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and a barbell on blocks in front of you.
  2. Grip the barbell with a wide grip and bend at your hips and knees.
  3. Explosively extend your hips and knees, pulling the barbell upwards.
  4. Drive the barbell overhead while fully extending your arms.
  5. Stabilize and control the barbell overhead before lowering it back to the blocks.
