Barbell Side Bend is an isolation exercise targeting the side muscles of the abdomen. It enhances flexibility and strengthens the obliques, improving lateral stability and core strength. It's performed by bending sideways with a barbell resting on the shoulders, engaging the core for balance.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell across your shoulders.
- Engage your core and keep your back straight.
- Slowly bend to one side at the waist, keeping your hips stationary.
- Return to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
- Perform the desired number of repetitions on each side.
