The Barbell Seated Twist is an effective core exercise that targets the obliques. By rotating the torso while holding a barbell, this movement helps enhance rotational strength and stability, particularly for athletes involved in sports requiring twisting motions.

How to do it

  1. Sit on a bench with feet flat on the floor, barbell across upper back.
  2. Hold the barbell firmly with both hands, maintaining an upright torso.
  3. Engage the core and slowly twist your torso to one side.
  4. Return to the starting position and twist to the opposite side.
  5. Repeat for desired repetitions, maintaining steady breathing.
