The Barbell JM Bench Press is a variation of the bench press focusing on strength and development of the triceps. It combines elements of a traditional bench press and a triceps extension to effectively target the triceps while also engaging the chest to a lesser extent.

How to do it

  1. Lie on a bench with your feet flat on the ground.
  2. Grip the barbell with a narrow grip and lift it off the rack.
  3. Lower the bar towards your mid-chest, bending the elbows and keeping them close to the body.
  4. Press the bar back up using the triceps, extending the arms fully.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
