The Barbell Full Squat is a fundamental strength exercise targeting the lower body. It primarily engages the quadriceps, gluteus maximus, and hamstrings while also activating the core for stabilization. This compound movement is great for building strength, muscle mass, and improving overall lower body power.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart and barbell resting on upper back.
  2. Keep chest up and core engaged as you initiate the squat by bending hips and knees.
  3. Lower until thighs are parallel to the ground, knees tracking over toes.
  4. Drive through heels to return to standing position.
