The Barbell Front Squat is a compound exercise that targets the lower body and core. It primarily emphasizes the quadriceps and enhances overall leg strength and stability while also engaging the core for balance.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding the barbell in front of your shoulders.
  2. Keep your elbows up and chest lifted as you engage your core.
  3. Descend by bending your knees and hips as if sitting back in a chair.
  4. Lower until your thighs are parallel to the ground, keeping the chest upright.
  5. Press through your heels to return to the starting position.
