The Barbell Front Bench Squat is a compound exercise that targets the quadriceps. By performing the squat with a bench behind, it offers a safety net and encourages proper depth in the squat, making it beginner-friendly.

How to do it

  1. Position a bench behind you and stand with feet hip-width apart.
  2. Hold the barbell across your shoulders with elbows pointing forward.
  3. Descend into a squat until your thighs are parallel to the floor, touching the bench lightly.
  4. Push through your heels to return to the starting position.
