The sled lying squat is an exercise that primarily targets the quadriceps while also engaging the glutes and hamstrings. It's performed on a sled machine, allowing for controlled, weighted motions that focus on developing lower body strength and endurance.
How to do it
- Lie back on the sled machine with your feet shoulder-width apart on the platform.
- Grip the handles for stability and release the safety bar.
- Lower the sled by bending your knees, keeping your back pressed against the pad and knees aligned with your toes.
- Descend until your knees are at a 90-degree angle, then push through your heels to return to the starting position.
- Perform the desired number of repetitions, maintaining control throughout the movement.
