The band standing hip extension is an effective exercise targeting the glutes while also engaging the hamstrings. This movement helps in strengthening the posterior chain, improving hip stability, and enhancing overall balance.

How to do it

  1. Attach a resistance band to a stable structure at ankle height.
  2. Wrap the free end of the band around one ankle.
  3. Stand upright holding onto the structure for support.
  4. Extend the banded leg backward while keeping it straight, engaging the glutes.
  5. Return slowly to the starting position and repeat.
