The band shrug is an exercise that targets the upper trapezius muscles, helping improve shoulder and neck strength and stability. This exercise is performed using a resistance band and is excellent for building upper back muscle endurance and posture.

How to do it

  1. Stand on a resistance band with feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Hold handles of the band with arms relaxed by your sides.
  3. Keep your arms straight and lift your shoulders towards your ears.
  4. Pause at the top and squeeze your shoulder muscles.
  5. Lower your shoulders back down slowly and repeat.
