The band pull apart strengthens the upper back and shoulders, focusing on improving posture and shoulder stability. It is effective for activating the rear deltoids and improving scapular retraction.
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a resistance band with both hands at shoulder height.
- Extend arms straight out in front of you, keeping a slight bend in the elbows.
- Pull the band apart by moving your arms outward until it touches your chest.
- Squeeze the shoulder blades together at the end of the movement.
- Slowly return to the starting position and repeat.
