The wide chin-up is an upper body exercise that strengthens the back and biceps. By positioning the hands wider apart on the bar, the exercise increases the engagement of the back muscles.
How to do it
- Grip the pull-up bar with palms facing toward you and hands wider than shoulder-width.
- Hang fully extended from the bar.
- Pull your chest towards the bar by engaging your back and biceps.
- Pause briefly at the top, then lower yourself steadily to the start position.
