The weighted twisting crunch on a bench targets the abdominal muscles with added resistance, enhancing core strength and stability while engaging the obliques. This exercise is effective for developing a toned midsection and improving rotational strength.

How to do it

  1. Sit on a bench with legs extended and a dumbbell held between your feet.
  2. Lean back slightly, keeping your core engaged and spine straight.
  3. Twist your torso to one side, then the other, bringing knees toward your chest.
  4. Exhale as you twist and inhale as you return to the center.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
