The standing overhead shoulder stretch targets flexibility in the shoulder area, helping to improve posture and range of motion. It is an effective stretch for relieving tension in the shoulders and upper back, commonly used in warm-up routines for various physical activities.

How to do it

  1. Stand upright with feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Raise one arm straight overhead, keeping it close to your ear.
  3. Reach the arm upwards and slightly over to the opposite side to deepen the stretch.
  4. Hold the position for 15-30 seconds while breathing deeply.
  5. Switch sides and repeat the stretch with the other arm.
