The Sphinx Pose is a gentle backbend that strengthens the spine and stretches the chest, shoulders, and abdomen. It promotes flexibility and helps alleviate stress by opening up the heart and lungs, supporting better posture.
How to do it
- Lie face down on the mat with legs extended and feet hip-width apart.
- Place your elbows directly under your shoulders and forearms flat on the ground.
- Inhale and lift your head and chest, keeping your neck long.
- Press your forearms into the ground, pulling your shoulders away from your ears.
- Hold the pose for a few breaths, then gently lower your chest back down.
