The lying hip straight leg raise is an effective core exercise designed to strengthen the lower abdominal muscles. By raising and lowering the legs while lying on your back, this exercise engages the rectus abdominis and hip flexors, contributing to improved core stability and strength.

How to do it

  1. Lie flat on your back with legs straight and arms at your sides.
  2. Engage your core muscles and lift your legs toward the ceiling.
  3. Keep your legs straight and raise them until perpendicular to the floor.
  4. Slowly lower your legs back down without touching the ground.
  5. Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
