The dumbbell overhead lunge is an advanced exercise that combines a lunge with an overhead press position, promoting strength and stability. This movement primarily targets the quadriceps while also engaging the core and shoulders due to the overhead hold.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells overhead.
  2. Step forward with one leg, bending both knees to lower into a lunge.
  3. Keep the front knee aligned with the ankle and the back knee just above the ground.
  4. Use your front heel to push back to the starting position.
  5. Alternate legs for each repetition.
