The dumbbell low split squat is a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps, gluteus maximus, and hamstrings. It improves leg strength, balance, and coordination by allowing each leg to work independently.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart, holding dumbbells at your sides.
  2. Take a step forward with your right foot and lower into a lunge, keeping the front knee above the ankle.
  3. Lower your back knee toward the ground without touching it.
  4. Push through the front heel to return to the starting position.
  5. Repeat on the other leg.
