The Dumbbell Cossack Squat is a unilateral lower body exercise that enhances flexibility, balance, and strength. It targets the inner thigh muscles while also improving mobility in the hips. Holding a dumbbell adds resistance, increasing the work on stabilizing muscles.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet wider than shoulder-width, holding a dumbbell at chest level.
  2. Shift weight onto one leg, bending that knee while keeping the other leg straight.
  3. Lower your hips toward the ground while keeping the chest upright.
  4. Pause at the bottom, then push through the heel to return to the start.
  5. Switch sides and repeat for desired reps.
