The Cossack squat is a lateral moving squat that stretches and strengthens the lower body. It enhances flexibility in the adductors and improves balance.

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet wide apart, toes slightly pointed out.
  2. Shift your weight onto one leg and bend that knee while keeping the other leg straight.
  3. Lower your hips towards the ground while keeping your chest upright.
  4. Stretch the straight leg fully and keep your heel on the ground.
  5. Push through the bent leg to return to the starting position.
