The Barbell Pause Incline Bench Press targets the upper chest with an added pause to increase time under tension and muscle engagement. It is performed by pressing a barbell from an inclined bench, pausing at the bottom of the lift to enhance muscle activation and control.
How to do it
- Set an incline bench and lie back, placing feet flat on the ground.
- Grip the barbell slightly wider than shoulder width, unracking it carefully.
- Lower the barbell slowly to the chest, pausing briefly just above the chest.
- Press the barbell back up to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
