The Barbell Pause Front Squat involves holding a barbell at the front of your shoulders while squatting down and briefly pausing at the bottom position. This exercise primarily targets the quadriceps and enhances strength, balance, and stability in the lower body.
How to do it
- Position a barbell on the front of your shoulders, keeping your elbows high.
- Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes slightly turned out.
- Lower into a squat by bending your knees and hips, keeping your chest up.
- Pause briefly at the bottom position, engaging your core and maintaining the bar's position.
- Drive through your heels to return to the starting position.
