The barbell pause deadlift is a variation of the traditional deadlift where the lifter pauses at a certain point during the lift. This exercise helps in building strength and improving technique by focusing on sticking points.
How to do it
- Stand with feet hip-width apart, barbell over mid-foot.
- Grip the barbell with hands shoulder-width apart.
- Pull the barbell up, pausing just below knees for 1-2 seconds.
- Continue to lift until standing upright, then lower back down.
- Repeat for desired reps, maintaining a tight core throughout.
