The barbell curtsey lunge is a lower body exercise that targets the quadriceps and glutes while improving balance and coordination. It involves stepping one leg behind and across the other, lowering the body into a squat position with a barbell on the shoulders.
How to do it
- Stand tall with feet hip-width apart, holding a barbell across your upper back.
- Step your right leg behind and across your left leg.
- Lower your hips until your left thigh is almost parallel to the ground.
- Push through your left heel to return to the starting position.
- Repeat on the other side, alternating legs.
