Standing Leg Curl
Gym Exercise Card
Equipment
The standing leg curl is an effective exercise for strengthening the hamstrings. It is performed by flexing the knee while standing, targeting the muscles in the rear of the thigh. This movement improves hamstring strength, balance, and knee stability, and is often used to complement other lower body exercises.
How to do it
- Stand up straight with feet hip-width apart, keeping your hands on your hips.
- Shift your weight onto your left leg while bending your right knee.
- Curl your right heel towards your glutes without moving your upper leg.
- Hold briefly at the top, then slowly lower your foot back down.
- Repeat for the desired number of reps, then switch legs.
